उत्पातदर्शनं खरसैन्यसमागमश्च

Omens of calamity and the approach of Khara’s army

आश्रमं प्रति याते तु खरे खरपराक्रमे।तानेवौत्पातिकान्रामस्सह भ्रात्रा ददर्श ह।।।।

āśramaṃ prati yāte tu khare khara-parākrame | tān evautpātikān rāmaḥ saha bhrātrā dadarśa ha ||

ദുഷ്ടപരാക്രമത്തിൽ ഉഗ്രനായ ഖരൻ ആശ്രമത്തേക്കു നീങ്ങുമ്പോൾ, രാമനും സഹോദരനോടുകൂടെ അതേ അപശകുനങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം—വിപത്ത് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നവയെ—കണ്ടു.
