The Disfigurement of Śūrpaṇakhā
ततस्तु सा राक्षससङ्घसंवृतं खरं जनस्थानगतं विरूपिता।उपेत्य तं भ्रातरमुग्रदर्शनं पपात भूमौ गगनाद्यथाऽशनिः।।।।
tatas tu sā rākṣasasaṅghasaṃvṛtaṃ kharaṃ janasthānagataṃ virūpitā |
upetya taṃ bhrātaram ugradarśanaṃ papāta bhūmau gaganād yathāśaniḥ ||
അപ്പോൾ വികൃതയായ അവൾ, രാക്ഷസസംഘം ചുറ്റിനിന്ന ജനസ്ഥാനവാസിയായ ഉഗ്രദർശനൻ ഖരൻ എന്ന സഹോദരന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; ആകാശത്തിൽ നിന്നു വീഴുന്ന വജ്രംപോലെ ഭൂമിയിൽ വീണു.
