It reads like a phala-śruti—an assurance of beneficial results (prosperity, success, fame, vitality) accruing from a prior act such as devotion, charity, vow, or sacred hearing/recitation described in the surrounding passage.
Esteem from the virtuous (sādhu-saṁmata) is presented as a key marker of true success, implying that prosperity and achievement are ideally grounded in dharmic conduct rather than mere worldly gain.
In Purāṇic usage, “tarati” commonly means overcoming adversity or crossing beyond obstacles and misfortune; depending on context it can also suggest progressing beyond worldly distress through dharma and merit.
