Unspecified narrator (contextual speaker not provided in the input excerpt)

Concept: Hari is pleased even by casual hearing of sacred narration; therefore, even seekers focused on nirvāṇa should listen—bhakti harmonizes with mokṣa.

Application: Keep Hari-kathā within earshot: play recitations at home, attend temple discourses, read a few verses daily; do not postpone devotion until ‘perfect detachment’.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Type: temple

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A group of brāhmaṇas sits with calm faces as sacred narration flows; even a passerby—half-distracted—pauses at the doorway, and a soft beam of light from Hari’s unseen presence touches his forehead. Above, a subtle vision of Viṣṇu smiles, indicating divine pleasure arising from mere contact with kathā.","primary_figures":["brāhmaṇa listeners (dvijāḥ)","a passerby hearing casually","Vishnu (subtle, blessing presence)"],"setting":"temple mandapa or hermitage hall with doorway framing the casual listener; small altar with lamp and conch","lighting_mood":"warm lamp-lit with a gentle divine beam","color_palette":["deep indigo","ghee-lamp gold","ivory","turquoise","rose pink"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Viṣṇu in a small upper register with gold-leaf halo smiling down, below a mandapa with dvija listeners, embossed lamps and pillars, a doorway figure (casual hearer) receiving a gold beam, rich reds/greens, gem-like ornamentation on altar objects, devotional symmetry.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate indoor scene with delicate faces, soft lamplight, a doorway vignette of the casual listener, translucent divine beam, cool-indigo shadows with warm highlights, refined architectural lines and textiles.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: iconic Viṣṇu presence above, bold outlines for seated dvijas, stylized lamp and conch, a clear gesture of ‘hearing’ (hand to ear) for the doorway figure, strong pigment blocks, temple-wall didactic clarity.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central katha assembly framed by lotus and vine borders, a highlighted doorway motif showing the casual hearer, upper border medallions with Viṣṇu symbols (śaṅkha, cakra), deep blue field with gold detailing, intricate textile ornamentation emphasizing grace."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"meditative","suggested_raga":"Durga","pace":"slow-meditative","voice_tone":"reverent-soft","sound_elements":["steady tanpura","soft bell at verse end","conch shell (very faint)","oil-lamp crackle","quiet breathing of listeners"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: tadapi = tat + api; śravaṇāccāpi = śravaṇāt + ca + api; bhaveddhariḥ = bhavet + hariḥ.

FAQs

Śravaṇa (devotional hearing) is emphasized: listening to sacred discourse is presented as intrinsically meritorious and pleasing to Hari.

It suggests that even a seeker focused on liberation should still engage in devotional hearing, implying bhakti-supportive practices remain valuable on the path to moksha.

Do not neglect sacred listening—even imperfect, casual exposure can have positive spiritual effect, encouraging humility and consistent engagement with dharmic teachings.
