FAQs

If one becomes ucchiṣṭa (ritually impure after eating) while handling an item/utensil, one should set it down, perform ācamana, and sprinkle the item with water to restore ritual cleanliness.

In this context it refers to a metal implement—typically a metallic vessel or utensil—treated as a ritual object requiring purity protocols.

The verse emphasizes śauca (cleanliness) and careful conduct in daily ritual life—recognizing impurity states and taking simple corrective actions to maintain discipline and reverence.
