FAQs

The verse declares that tīrthābhigamana—going on pilgrimage to sacred tīrthas—is especially meritorious and is said to surpass even sacrificial rites (yajñas).

It frames pilgrimage as an inner, distilled dharma-teaching: a direct, accessible means of accruing puṇya that can be valued even above complex ritual performance.

It emphasizes prioritizing sincere dharmic action—reverent approach to sacred places and traditions—over mere ritual complexity, presenting devotionally oriented practice as highly efficacious.
