व्यास उवाच । दैत्यानां साहसादेव तपो भवति निश्चितम् । व्रतं यज्ञादिकं चैव संप्रीतिः स्वजनस्य च

vyāsa uvāca | daityānāṃ sāhasādeva tapo bhavati niścitam | vrataṃ yajñādikaṃ caiva saṃprītiḥ svajanasya ca

വ്യാസൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ദൈത്യരുടെ തപസ്സ് നിശ്ചയമായും വെറും ധൈര്യസാഹസത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഉദ്ഭവിക്കുന്നത്; അതുപോലെ അവരുടെ വ്രതങ്ങളും യജ്ഞാദി കർമ്മങ്ങളും, സ്വജനങ്ങളുടെ പ്രീതിയും കൂടെ।
