किंतु समाधिना तेन न ज्ञातं शूलसंभवम् । कृच्छ्रं च मुनिना कृत्स्नं योगाभ्यासाद्भृशादपि

എന്നാൽ ആ സമാധിയിലൂടെയും ശൂലത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്ഭവകാരണം അവൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല. മുനിയുടെ സമസ്ത കഠിനശ്രമം—അത്യന്തം തീവ്രമായ യോഗാഭ്യാസം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും—വൃഥയായിത്തീർന്നു.
