Umā’s Austerity, Kauśikī’s Manifestation, and Skanda’s Birth Leading to Tāraka’s Defeat

Mahādeva (Śiva), addressing Ambikā (Pārvatī)

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: karuna

A
Ambikā (Pārvatī)

FAQs

It frames a compassionate instruction: because Ambikā is ever-present and deeply affectionate, the speaker proceeds to explain the proper duty or course of action (vidheya) for her to undertake.

Ambikā is an honorific name meaning “Mother,” commonly used for Pārvatī (Śiva’s consort) in Purāṇic dialogues.

Guidance should be offered with tenderness and clarity: affection and attentive presence are presented as the basis for transmitting dharmic instruction about what should be done.
