सुतो दशरथस्याहं रामो नाम जनैः स्मृतः । सौभाग्यवापीं तां द्रष्टुमहं प्राप्तोत्रिशासनात्

suto daśarathasyāhaṃ rāmo nāma janaiḥ smṛtaḥ | saubhāgyavāpīṃ tāṃ draṣṭumahaṃ prāptotriśāsanāt

ഞാൻ ദശരഥന്റെ പുത്രൻ; ജനങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ‘രാമൻ’ എന്നു സ്മരിക്കുന്നു. ത്രിശാസനന്റെ ആജ്ഞപ്രകാരം ആ ‘സൗഭാഗ്യ-വാപി’ ദർശിക്കാനായി ഇവിടെ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
