Unspecified (a supplicant addressing Devī; immediate narrative context needed to identify the named speaker)

Concept: When innocence is asserted, it should culminate not in pride but in surrender at the feet of the compassionate Devi as refuge.

Application: In conflict, keep conscience clear (deed/thought/speech) and seek reconciliation through humility and prayer rather than accusation.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: karuna

FAQs

The verse emphasizes śaraṇāgati—seeking exclusive refuge—expressed through the act of touching the Goddess’s feet and declaring that there is no other recourse.

It presents a threefold standard of conduct: moral purity is measured not only by outward actions but also by inner intention (mind) and verbal expression (speech).

No explicit tīrtha or geographic reference appears in this shloka; it is primarily a personal declaration of innocence toward Rāma and surrender to Devī.
