न वर्णा वर्णतां वेत्ति सर्ववर्णाभिवादनः । पंचमासास्त्वतिक्रांता दिवसाः पंचविंशतिः

na varṇā varṇatāṃ vetti sarvavarṇābhivādanaḥ | paṃcamāsāstvatikrāṃtā divasāḥ paṃcaviṃśatiḥ

അവൻ വർണ്ണഭേദം അറിയുന്നില്ല; എങ്കിലും എല്ലാ വർണ്ണക്കാരും അവനെ അഭിവാദ്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു. അഞ്ചുമാസം കഴിഞ്ഞു; കൂടാതെ ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ച് ദിവസവും.
