अंतःसमुद्रमाविश्य सन्निवेशमकुर्वत । अशक्ता इति तेप्यग्निमारुताभ्यामुपेक्षिताः

aṃtaḥsamudramāviśya sanniveśamakurvata | aśaktā iti tepyagnimārutābhyāmupekṣitāḥ

അവർ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ നടുവിലേക്ക് കടന്ന് അവിടെ തന്നെ താമസം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ ‘അശക്തർ’ എന്നു കരുതപ്പെട്ടതിനാൽ അഗ്നിയും വായുവും അവരെയും അവഗണിച്ചു।

It says that certain beings entered into the ocean’s interior and established a settlement there, but were then ignored by the elemental forces of Fire (Agni) and Wind (Vāyu/Maruta) because they were considered incapable.

In Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa-style cosmological narration, Agni and Vāyu often function as elemental agents—forces that enable, test, purify, or sustain. Their “disregard” indicates a failure to qualify for support or participation in the unfolding order.

A common Purāṇic lesson is that capability/fitness (śakti or adhikāra) determines whether one receives support from higher powers or natural forces; mere relocation or outward action (like settling somewhere) is not sufficient without inner capacity.
