Narrator (context not specified in the provided excerpt)

Concept: Mantra-japa and homa, performed by qualified brāhmaṇas, sustain cosmic order and invite divine presence.

Application: Treat daily practice (japa, lamp, simple offering) as a ‘mini-yajña’—regularity and purity of intention matter more than display.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Type: tirtha

FAQs

It depicts a sacrificial setting where leading brāhmaṇas are engaged in japa and homa, and Brahmā is present on the yajña-ground as the cosmic progenitor.

The epithet means “grandsire of the worlds,” emphasizing Brahmā’s role as the generative principle and ancestral source within the Purāṇic cosmology.

The verse highlights disciplined sacred practice—inner devotion through mantra (japa) and outward ritual offering (homa)—as complementary forms of dharmic worship.
