Narrator (contextual; verse describes Śaṅkara’s actions after being praised)

Concept: Praise received with serenity culminates in orderly action—sending beings to their proper spheres and establishing stable abodes—followed by contented stillness.

Application: After recognition or success, complete responsibilities (set things in order), then rest in contentment rather than agitation; cultivate ‘prasanna-ātman’ as a daily discipline.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Type: celestial_realm

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Śaṅkara, tranquil and smiling, stands in a luminous celestial courtyard after receiving hymns of praise. Devas, with folded hands, depart along radiant pathways while behind Śaṅkara newly-manifested divine abodes shimmer like crystalline sanctuaries suspended in the sky; the atmosphere is orderly, calm, and joy-filled.","primary_figures":["Śaṅkara (Rudra/Śiva)","Devas (Indra and attendants)"],"setting":"Celestial court with floating mandapas and subtle cosmic architecture; distant constellations and a faint aurora-like band suggesting the newly established dhāmas.","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["ash white","sapphire blue","gold leaf","smoky violet","pearl silver"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Śaṅkara seated or standing in serene composure within a celestial mandapa, devas departing in orderly procession, newly established dhāmas depicted as ornate miniature shrines in the background; heavy gold leaf halos, rich vermilion and emerald borders, gem-studded ornaments, stylized lotus pedestals, traditional South Indian iconographic symmetry.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: tranquil Śaṅkara in a refined celestial terrace, devas walking away along a pale blue pathway, delicate cloud-banks and starry gradients; cool sapphire and lavender washes, lyrical naturalism, fine facial features, subtle architectural pavilions suggesting divine abodes.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold-outlined Śaṅkara with calm eyes and gentle smile, devas in rhythmic rows, celestial mandapa with lotus and vine motifs; natural pigment palette dominated by reds, yellows, greens with black contours, temple-wall aesthetic and luminous aura around the figures.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: celestial courtyard filled with lotus motifs and ornate floral borders, devas departing like a procession around a central serene deity figure; deep indigo background with gold highlights, intricate patterning, peacocks and stylized clouds framing the newly formed divine abodes."}

FAQs

After being praised, Śaṅkara becomes serene, dispatches the gods, establishes his own abodes (dhiṣṇyas), and remains there joyfully.

Dhiṣṇya here means a divine seat, station, or abode—places of established presence or sanctified dwelling associated with the deity.

The verse highlights the efficacy of stuti (praise): sincere glorification leads to the deity’s prasannatā (pleased serenity) and benevolent, orderly action toward the gods and the world.
