The Glory of the Vāsudeva Hymn: Boons, Japa across the Yugas, and Ascent to Vaikuṇṭha

पुण्यो धन्यः स वै दाता पुत्रवान्हि भविष्यति । जपिष्यति मम स्तोत्रं नात्र कार्या विचारणा

puṇyo dhanyaḥ sa vai dātā putravānhi bhaviṣyati | japiṣyati mama stotraṃ nātra kāryā vicāraṇā

Concept: Dāna joined with stotra-japa yields puṇya, prosperity, and progeny; faith (niścaya) is itself part of the efficacy.

Application: Give regularly (food, water, learning, medicine) and keep a consistent recitation practice; cultivate śraddhā rather than anxious over-analysis of results.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A humble yet radiant courtyard: a householder offers food and cloth to a brāhmaṇa while a small lamp burns before a palm-leaf hymn. FAQs

It declares that a donor (dātā) becomes blessed and gains merit, and specifically promises progeny (putravān) along with the inclination to recite the speaker’s hymn.

It links generosity (dāna) with devotional recitation (stotra-japa), presenting both as mutually reinforcing sources of merit and auspicious outcomes.

The verse upholds giving as a virtuous act that brings both spiritual merit and worldly welfare, encouraging faith in righteous action without excessive doubt.
