Unspecified (narrative voice within Bhūmi-khaṇḍa Adhyaya 85 context)

Concept: Sustained happiness and social harmony arise from a triad of dāna (charity), puṇya (merit through right conduct), and japa (sacred recitation), all animated by śraddhā-bhāva (faithful devotional disposition).

Application: Keep a daily minimum: a small act of giving, a fixed japa count (even one mālā), and one deliberate meritorious deed; consciously add śraddhā by remembering the recipient as Nārāyaṇa’s presence.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

The verse links joyful living with contentment (saṃtuṣṭa), charity (dāna), meritorious conduct (puṇya), sacred recitation (japa), and an inner foundation of faith and devotional feeling (śraddhā-bhāva).

It pairs outer disciplines—giving (dāna), virtuous action (puṇya), and japa—with inner dispositions—faith (śraddhā) and heartfelt intent (bhāva), implying both are required for a truly uplifted life.

Cultivate contentment, practice generosity, engage in virtuous deeds, maintain regular spiritual recitation, and anchor all actions in sincere faith—these together are presented as the foundation for happiness and social wellbeing.
