V
Vena

FAQs

It recommends honoring a mother’s and father’s instruction when it is prajā-yukta—i.e., consistent with the welfare of the people and dharma, not merely personal preference.

Vena is named as a prajā-pāla (protector of subjects), introducing or continuing the narrative about King Vena within the Bhūmi-khaṇḍa’s discussion of rulership and conduct.

It frames legitimate authority and decision-making around public welfare (prajā-hita), implying that a ruler’s actions—and even familial directives—should be evaluated by their benefit to the subjects.
