The Dialogue between Rukmāṅgada and Dharmāṅgada
पितुर्भारक्षमः पुत्रो भारं नोद्वहते तु यः । मातुरुच्चारवज्जातो द्विजिह्वो विषवर्जितः ॥ ७ ॥
piturbhārakṣamaḥ putro bhāraṃ nodvahate tu yaḥ | māturuccāravajjāto dvijihvo viṣavarjitaḥ || 7 ||
പിതാവിന്റെ ഭാരം വഹിക്കാൻ ശേഷിയുള്ളവനെയാണ് ‘പുത്രൻ’ എന്നു പറയുന്നത്; ആ ഭാരം വഹിക്കാത്തവൻ മാതാവിന്റെ വെറും ഉച്ചാരണമാത്രം—പേരിനായി ജനിച്ചവൻ—വിഷമില്ലാത്ത ദ്വിജിഹ്വ ജീവിയെപ്പോലെ.
