The Account of Kāṣṭhīlā (Kāṣṭhīlā-ākhyāna) within the Mohinī Narrative
anuvartaya rājāna gurureṣa sanātanaḥ | sadā bhavati yā nārī bharturvacanakāriṇī || 8 ||
Narada (in instruction to a king)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"bhakti","emotional_journey":"A calm, normative injunction establishing an ‘eternal’ rule of conduct, implicitly valuing steadiness, obedience, and household dharma."}
It frames dharma as an eternal guiding principle (sanātana) and presents marital fidelity and alignment with one’s household duty as a stabilizing force for righteous living.
While not directly naming Vishnu-bhakti, it supports bhakti through disciplined conduct (sadācāra): orderly household duties and restraint are treated as foundations that make devotional life steady and sincere.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught in this verse; it primarily conveys nīti/ācāra—practical dharmic ethics for social and household life.
