यस्या दुःखी भवेद्भर्ता भार्याया वरवार्णिनी । समृद्धायाः सपापायास्तस्याः प्रोक्ता ह्यधोगतिः ॥ ३९ ॥

ഹേ സുന്ദരവർണ്ണിനീ! ഭാര്യയുടെ കാരണത്താൽ ഭർത്താവ് ദുഃഖിതനാകുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, അവൾ സമൃദ്ധയായാലും പാപിനിയാണ്; അവൾക്കു ശാസ്ത്രം അധോഗതി തന്നെയെന്ന് പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.
