Suta (narrator) describing the account within the Narada Purana tradition
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that ritual action (yajña) becomes spiritually fruitful when completed in accordance with dharma and then internalized through tapas and Viṣṇu-upāsanā, culminating in attaining Hari’s state (hareḥ padam).
Even after performing a formal sacrifice, the decisive step is worship of Viṣṇu—showing that devotion and surrender to Hari are the means by which merit matures into liberation-oriented attainment.
The verse implies correct ritual performance under brāhmaṇa supervision—pointing to Kalpa (ritual procedure) and related śrauta discipline as the practical framework supporting yajña.
