āsannamṛtyavaste tu vinaṣṭamatayo munim | padbhiḥ saṃtāḍayāmāsurbāhūṃ ca jagṛhuḥ pare || 101 ||
Suta (narrator) describing events to the assembled sages
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: raudra
It highlights the grave adharma of harming a muni: when intellect is destroyed (vinaṣṭa-mati), people commit cruelty that brings heavy karmic reactions and spiritual decline.
By contrast: bhakti is inseparable from reverence to saints and non-violence; the verse shows the opposite—sadhu-apacāra—an obstacle that blocks devotion and divine grace.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught here; the practical takeaway is dharma-śāstra conduct—ahimsa and respect toward ascetics as foundational discipline.
