The Characteristics of Devotion to Hari
असूयारहिता ये तु ह्यहङ्कारविवर्जिताः । देवपूजापराश्चैव तेषां तुष्यति केशवः ॥ २५ ॥
asūyārahitā ye tu hyahaṅkāravivarjitāḥ | devapūjāparāścaiva teṣāṃ tuṣyati keśavaḥ || 25 ||
അസൂയരഹിതരും അഹങ്കാരവിവർജിതരുമായും ദേവപൂജയിൽ പരായണരുമായവരിൽ കേശവൻ പ്രസന്നനാകുന്നു।

It teaches that inner purity—especially freedom from envy (asūyā) and ego (ahaṅkāra)—is a primary qualification for devotion, and that such character naturally draws the grace of Keśava (Vishnu).
Bhakti is shown not merely as external worship, but as worship supported by humility and non-maliciousness; when deva-pūjā is performed without ego and fault-finding, it becomes truly pleasing to Vishnu.
Rather than a technical Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa), the verse highlights practical sādhana: correct devotional disposition (bhāva) in ritual worship—purifying envy and ego so that pūjā bears spiritual fruit.
