Nārada’s Hymn to Viṣṇu
Nāradasya Viṣṇu-stavaḥ
ityuccaran harernāma natvā tān svāgrajān munīn | upāsīnaśca taiḥ sārdhaṃ sasnau prītisamanvitaḥ || 12 ||
Suta (narrator) describing the devotee/sage’s conduct in the presence of elder munis (Sanatkumara tradition context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links three pillars of spiritual life—chanting Hari’s name, honoring elder sages, and purifying oneself through snana—showing that devotion is expressed through both inner remembrance and outer sacred conduct.
Bhakti here is practical and relational: the devotee vocalizes Hari-nāma, approaches saintly elders with humility (namaskāra), and remains in their company—devotion grows through reverence, satsanga, and purity.
While not a technical Vedanga lesson, it reflects shrauta-smarta discipline: correct recitation/utterance (connected with Śikṣā) and ritual cleanliness via snana—core elements of Vedic practice and daily āhnika.
