Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It equates “nindā” (malicious reviling) of renunciants with a major theft, teaching that harming the spiritually dedicated through speech is a serious adharma with heavy karmic weight.
Bhakti is guarded by purity of speech and respect for sādhus; avoiding criticism of yatis supports humility and sattva—foundational qualities for steady devotion to Vishnu.
Not a Vedanga technique directly; it highlights applied dharma-śāstra reasoning—grading actions by their karmic severity (e.g., treating slander and certain thefts as equivalent major offenses).
