Sanatkumāra (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It teaches that simple worship—offering fragrant incense (guggulu) mixed with ghee—when done with sincere bhakti to Śiva or Viṣṇu, functions as a purifying act that destroys sinful reactions.
The verse makes devotion (bhaktyā) the decisive factor: the external ritual (dhūpa offering) becomes spiritually effective primarily through heartfelt reverence toward the deity.
It highlights kalpa/ritual procedure (a practical aspect allied to Vedāṅga-style liturgical order): the correct upacāra of dhūpa, specifying a substance (guggulu) and its preparation (mixed with ghṛta) for worship.
