Śuka’s Yoga-ascent, the Echo of ‘Bhoḥ’, and the Vaikuṇṭha Vision
ये तु संसारनिर्मुक्ता मोक्ष शास्त्रपरायणाः । कुत्र ते निवसंतीह संशयो मे महानयम् ॥ ४ ॥
ye tu saṃsāranirmuktā mokṣa śāstraparāyaṇāḥ | kutra te nivasaṃtīha saṃśayo me mahānayam || 4 ||
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames a core Moksha-dharma question: liberation is not merely a change of location but a transformation of state; Narada asks where such liberated, moksha-scripture-centered beings are said to “abide,” prompting a teaching on the nature of mukti.
Indirectly, it highlights single-pointed commitment (parāyaṇatā) to the means of liberation; in Narada Purana this often harmonizes with Vishnu-bhakti as a liberating discipline, even when the verse itself speaks in moksha-śāstra terms.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught in this verse; it is primarily a philosophical (mokṣa-śāstra/Vedānta-aligned) inquiry rather than a technical ritual or scientific instruction.
