उद्दिष्टाराशिः संक्षिप्तौ हृतोंऽशै रहितो युतः । इष्टघ्नदृष्टेनैतेन भक्तराशिरनीशितः ॥ ३० ॥
uddiṣṭārāśiḥ saṃkṣiptau hṛtoṃ'śai rahito yutaḥ | iṣṭaghnadṛṣṭenaitena bhaktarāśiranīśitaḥ || 30 ||
ഉദ്ദിഷ്ടരാശിയെ സംക്ഷിപ്തമാക്കി, അംശങ്ങളാൽ വിഭജിച്ച്, ആവശ്യത്തിന് കുറയ്ക്കുകയോ കൂട്ടുകയോ ചെയ്ത്—ഈ ‘ഇഷ്ടഘ്ന’ രീതിയിൽ ലഭിക്കുന്ന ദൃഷ്ടഫലപ്രകാരം ഭക്തരാശി (ഭാഗഫല-രാശി) ശരിയായി നിർണ്ണയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു।
