इष्टैः पलैस्तदूनाढ्यं व्यगावूनेऽर्कषङ्गुणः । तदन्यथाधिके तस्मिन्नेवं स्पष्टे सुखांत्यगे ॥ १५७ ॥

Transliteration

iṣṭaiḥ palaistadūnāḍhyaṃ vyagāvūne'rkaṣaṅguṇaḥ | tadanyathādhike tasminnevaṃ spaṣṭe sukhāṃtyage || 157 ||

Translation

നിർദ്ദേശിച്ച പലയിലെ കുറവ്-കൂടുതൽ ഉണ്ടായാൽ ഫലവും അതനുസരിച്ച് കുറയുകയോ കൂടുകയോ ചെയ്യും. കുറവ് ഒരു ‘വ്യഗാവ’ ആണെങ്കിൽ ഫലം സൂര്യ-ഗുണം, അഥവാ ആറിരട്ടി ആകുന്നു. അധികമെങ്കിൽ അതനുസരിച്ച് മാറ്റം വരുത്തണം—ഇങ്ങനെ ഗണിതം വ്യക്തമായി പറഞ്ഞ്, സുഖ-ഫല വിഭജനത്തിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു।
