Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 71

Sṛṣṭi-pralaya-kathana: Mahābhūta-guṇāḥ, Vṛkṣa-indriya-vādaḥ, Prāṇa-vāyu-vyavasthā

पुण्यापुण्यैस्तथा गंधैर्धूपैश्च विविधैरपि । अरोगाः पुष्पिताः संति तस्माज्जिघ्रंति पादपाः ॥ ७१ ॥

puṇyāpuṇyaistathā gaṃdhairdhūpaiśca vividhairapi | arogāḥ puṣpitāḥ saṃti tasmājjighraṃti pādapāḥ || 71 ||

പുണ്യവും അപുണ്യവും ആയ ഗന്ധങ്ങളാലും, പലവിധ ധൂപധൂമങ്ങളാലും, സസ്യങ്ങൾ രോഗമില്ലാതെ പുഷ്പിക്കുന്നു; അതിനാൽ വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ (പോലെ) ആ ഗന്ധം ‘മണം പിടിക്കുന്നു’.
