साम दैत्येषु नैवास्ति यतस्ते लब्धसंश्रयाः जातिधर्मेण वा भेद्या दानं प्राप्तश्रिये च किम् //

sāma daityeṣu naivāsti yataste labdhasaṃśrayāḥ jātidharmeṇa vā bhedyā dānaṃ prāptaśriye ca kim //

ദൈത്യന്മാരോടു സാമത്തിന് സ്ഥാനമില്ല; അവർ ഇതിനകം ആശ്രയവും പിന്തുണയും നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ സ്വന്തം ജാതി-ധർമ്മവും കൂട്ടസ്വഭാവവും കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ വിഭജിക്കപ്പെടുമെങ്കിൽ, ഇതിനകം സമൃദ്ധനായവന് ദാനം എന്തിന്?
