Matsya Purana — Dynastic Genealogies: Paurava–Anu Lines
antaḥpure jugopainaṃ bhakṣyabhojyaiśca tarpayan prītaścaiva vareṇaiva cchandayāmāsa vai balim //
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it focuses on a courtly episode emphasizing protection, hospitality, and the granting of a boon.
It reflects rājadharma and gṛhastha-dharma: protecting someone under one’s care, honoring them with food, and rewarding merit or goodwill through a fitting gift/boon.
Architecturally, “antaḥpura” indicates the inner, protected palace zone; ritually, the key idea is guest-satisfaction (tarpana in the broad sense) through proper offering of food and a boon.
