Adhyaya 8Harishchandra’s Trial: Truth, the Sale of Family, and Bondage to a Chandala

अस्ति मे वित्तमस्तोके सुकुमारी च मे प्रिया ।

गृहकर्म न शक्नोति कर्तुमस्मात् प्रयच्छ मे ॥

asti me vittam astokaṃ sukumārī ca me priyā | gṛhakarma na śaknoti kartum asmāt prayaccha me ||

എനിക്ക് ധാരാളം ധനം ഉണ്ട്; എന്റെ പ്രിയയായ কোমല യുവതി ഭാര്യയും ഉണ്ട്. അവൾ ഗൃഹകാര്യധർമ്മങ്ങൾ നിർവഹിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല; അതിനാൽ ഈ ആവശ്യത്തിൽ എനിക്ക് സഹായം നൽകി രക്ഷിക്കണമേ।
