Adhyaya 64 — Kalavati (Vibhavari) Offers Herself and the Padmini Vidya to Svarocisha
na dattāhaṃ tadā tena yācitena mahātmanā | devāriṇālinā suptas tato me ghātitaḥ pitā ||

The verse condemns coercive acquisition and treachery: killing a protector in sleep is a paradigmatic act of adharma, showing how lust for possession collapses moral order.
Vamśānucarita: pivotal event (guardian’s death) that redirects the heroine’s fate and motivates subsequent divine intervention.
Sleep here symbolizes unguarded consciousness; adharma attacks when vigilance is absent. The protector’s fall marks the soul’s experience of ‘loss of shelter,’ preparing for a higher refuge.
