कश्चिद् द्विजातिप्रवरः पुरेऽभूदरुणास्पदे ।
वरुणायास्तटे विप्रो रूपेणात्यश्विनावपि ॥
kaścid dvijāti-pravaraḥ pure 'bhūd aruṇāspade |
varuṇāyās taṭe vipro rūpeṇāty-aśvināv api ||
അരുൺആസ്പദം എന്ന നഗരത്തിൽ ഒരു ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ദ്വിജൻ (ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ) വസിച്ചിരുന്നു. വരുണാ നദീതീരത്ത് ആ ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ അത്യന്തം സുന്ദരനായിരുന്നു—സൗന്ദര്യത്തിൽ അശ്വിനീകുമാരന്മാരെപ്പോലെ.
