विभ्रष्टपादलेपोऽथ चिरेण जडितक्रमः ।

चिन्तयामास किमिदं मयाज्ञानादनुष्ठितम् ॥

vibhraṣṭapādalepo 'tha cireṇa jaḍitakramaḥ /

cintayāmāsa kimidaṃ mayājñānādanuṣṭhitam

പിന്നീട് ഏറെ സമയം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ, പാദലേപനം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതിനാൽ അവന്റെ നടപ്പ് മന്ദമായി; അപ്പോൾ അവൻ ചിന്തിച്ചു—‘അജ്ഞാനത്താൽ ഞാൻ ഇതെന്തു ചെയ്തു?’
