एते भौमा द्विजश्रेष्ठ । स्वर्गाः स्वर्गगुणाधिकाः ।

न तासु पुण्यपापानामपूर्वाणामुपार्जनम् ॥

ete bhaumā dvijaśreṣṭha svargāḥ svarga-guṇādhikāḥ | na tāsu puṇya-pāpānām apūrvāṇām upārjanam ||

ഹേ ബ്രാഹ്മണശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! ഇവ ഭൂമിയിലെ സ്വർഗ്ഗങ്ങളാണ്, ദിവ്യഗുണസമൃദ്ധം. അവിടെ പുതിയ പുണ്യവും സമ്പാദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല; പാപവും സഞ്ചയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.
