FAQs

Speech is treated as a subtle power: refined beings are associated with vāk, suggesting that cultivated speech and sound (music, mantra, art) are civilizational and elevating forces.

Sarga: the verse continues enumerating created categories and provides etymological grounding for names (Gandharva) within the creation account.

‘Drinking speech’ hints at internalization of mantra/vibration; Gandharvas as sonic intelligences embody the metaphysics of sound as a creative principle.
