Adhyaya 44Subahu’s Counsel to the King of Kashi and Alarka’s Renunciation through Yoga

ममेति प्रत्ययो भू प ! न कार्योऽहमिति त्वया ।

सम्यगालोच्य धर्मो हि धर्माभावे निराश्रयः ॥

mameti pratyayo bhūpa na kāryo 'ham iti tvayā / samyag ālocya dharmo hi dharmābhāve nirāśrayaḥ //

ഹേ രാജാവേ, ‘എന്റെത്’ എന്ന മമത വളർത്തരുത്; ‘ഞാൻ’ എന്ന അഹംഭാവവും അല്ല. ശരിയായി ചിന്തിക്കൂ—ധർമ്മമില്ലെങ്കിൽ ധർമ്മം തന്നെയും അധാരരഹിതമാകുന്നു.
