तेषामुच्छेदकर्ता च यो नरोऽत्यन्तपापकृत् ।

स तमस्यान्धतामिस्त्रे तामिस्त्रे च निमज्जति ॥

teṣām ucchedakartā ca yo naro ’tyantapāpakṛt | sa tamasy āndhatāmistre tāmistre ca nimajjati ||

എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ യഥോചിത ഭാഗം (പോഷണം/കർമ്മം) മുറിച്ചുകളയുന്ന അതിമഹാപാപി മനുഷ്യൻ ‘തമസ്’, ‘അന്ധതമസ്’, ‘മഹാതമസ്’ എന്ന ഭീകര അന്ധകാരാവസ്ഥകളിൽ മുങ്ങുന്നു।
