पूर्णेन्दुमालोक्य यथा प्रीतिमान् जायते नरः ।

एवं यत्र प्रजाः सर्वा निर्वत्ता स्तच्छशिव्रतम् ॥

Transliteration

pūrṇendum ālokya yathā prītimān jāyate naraḥ | evaṃ yatra prajāḥ sarvā nirvattās tac chaśi-vratam ||

Translation

പൂര്‍ണചന്ദ്രനെ കണ്ടാല്‍ മനുഷ്യന്‍ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, എല്ലാ പ്രജകളും സന്തുഷ്ടരായി സുസ്ഥിരരായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന രാജ്യം—അതുതന്നെ രാജാവിന്റെ ‘സോമവ്രതം’ (ചന്ദ്രസദൃശ രാജധര്‍മ്മം) ആകുന്നു.
