Adhyaya 27 — Madālasa’s Instruction to King Alarka: Royal Ethics, Self-Conquest, and Statecraft
प्रागात्मा मन्त्रिणश्चैव ततो भृत्या महीभृता ।
जेयाश्चानन्तरं पौराः विरुध्येत ततोऽरिभिः ॥
prāg ātmā mantriṇaś caiva tato bhṛtyā mahībhṛtā /
jeyāś cānantaraṃ paurā virudhyeta tato 'ribhiḥ
ആദ്യം രാജാവ് സ്വയം ജയിക്കണം; പിന്നെ മന്ത്രിമാരെ, തുടർന്ന് സേവകരെ. അതിനുശേഷം പൗരന്മാരെ ശരിയായ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരണം; അതിന് ശേഷം മാത്രമേ ശത്രുക്കളെ നേരിടാവൂ।
