तुतुषुस्तेन वै भृत्या जहास च मदालसा ।

सा वै मदालसा पुत्रं बालमुत्तानशायिनम् ।

उल्लापनच्छलेनाह रुदमानमविस्वरम् ॥

tutuṣus tena vai bhṛtyā jahāsa ca madālasā | sā vai madālasā putraṃ bālam uttānaśāyinam | ullāpanacchalenāha rudamānam avisvaram ||

അത് കേട്ട് സേവകർ സന്തോഷിച്ചു; മദാലസ പുഞ്ചിരിച്ചു. പിന്നെ ശിശുഭാഷയുടെ മറവിൽ, പുറംചായ്ന്നുകിടന്ന് മന്ദമായി കരയുന്ന തന്റെ ശിശുപുത്രനോട് അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു.
