Adhyaya 23 — Ashvatara’s Vow for Madalasa and the Bestowal of Musical Science by Sarasvati
नागराडश्वतर उवाच यद्यशक्यमिति ज्ञात्वा न करिष्यन्ति मानवाः ।
कर्मण्युद्यममुद्योगहाण्या हानिस्ततः परम् ॥
nāgarāḍ aśvatara uvāca yady aśakyam iti jñātvā na kariṣyanti mānavāḥ | karmaṇy udyamam udyoga-hānyā hānis tataḥ param ||
നാഗരാട് അശ്വതരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—‘ഇത് അസാധ്യം’ എന്ന് കരുതി ജനങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിയിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ, പ്രവർത്തിയിലെ മുൻകൈയും പരിശ്രമവും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു, ഫലമായി കൂടുതൽ നാശം മാത്രമേ സംഭവിക്കൂ.
