स सोमो मानसोजज्ञे तस्यामत्रेः प्रजापतेः ।
पुत्रः समस्तसत्त्वानामायुराधार एव च ॥
sa somo mānaso jajñe tasyāmatreḥ prajāpateḥ |
putraḥ samastasattvānāmāyurādhāra eva ca ||
ആ സോമൻ പ്രജാപതി അത്രിയുടെ മനസ്സിൽ നിന്നു ജനിച്ചു. അവൻ അത്രിയുടെ പുത്രനായി, സർവ്വജീവികളുടെ ആയുസ്സിന്റെ അധാരമായി നിലകൊണ്ടു.

The Moon is linked with nourishment and vitality; calling Soma ‘support of lifespan’ frames cosmic order as sustaining embodied life. It also elevates the mind (manas) as a generative principle capable of producing world-supporting powers.
