ज्ञानदानफलं ह्येतद्यज्जातिस्मरणं मम ।

न ह्येतत्प्राप्यते तात त्रयीधर्माश्रितैर्नरैः ॥

jñānadānaphalaṃ hy etad yaj jātismaraṇaṃ mama | na hy etat prāpyate tāta trayīdharmāśritair naraiḥ ||

എന്റെ മുൻജന്മസ്മൃതി ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും ദാനത്തിന്റെയും ഫലമാണ്. പ്രിയ പിതാവേ, വെദത്രയീധർമ്മം (കർമ്മകാണ്ഡം) മാത്രമേ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഇത് ലഭ്യമാകുന്നില്ല.
