सर्वायुधमहामात्रं शातकुम्भपरिष्कृतम् एतत् तदर्जुनस्यासीद् गाण्डीवं परमायुधम्,बृहन्नला बोली--राजकुमार! तुमने पहले जिसके विषयमें मुझसे प्रश्न किया है, वही यह अर्जुनका विश्वविख्यात गाण्डीव धनुष है, जो शत्रुओंकी सेनाके लिये कालरूप है। यह सब आयुधोंसे विशाल है। इसमें सब ओर सोना मढ़ा है। यही उत्तम आयुध गाण्डीव अर्जुनके पास रहा करता था

sarvāyudha-mahāmātraṁ śātakumbha-pariṣkṛtam |
etat tad arjunasya āsīd gāṇḍīvaṁ paramāyudham ||
ഉത്തര പറഞ്ഞു—രാജകുമാരാ! ഇതാണ് അർജുനന്റെ പരമായുധമായ ലോകവിഖ്യാത ഗാണ്ഡീവ ധനുസ്സ്. ഇത് എല്ലാ ആയുധങ്ങളെയും മറികടന്ന് മഹത്തായതും ശുദ്ധസ്വർണ്ണംകൊണ്ട് അലങ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുമാണ്. ഇത് തീർച്ചയായും പാർത്ഥന്റെ സ്വന്തം ആയിരുന്നു.
