Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
समवेषं न कुर्वीत नोच्चै: संनिहितो वसेत् । न मन्त्र बहुधा कुयदिवं राज्ञ: प्रियो भवेत्,राजाके समान वेशभूषा न धारण करे। उसके अत्यन्त निकट न रहे। उसके सामने उच्च आसनपर न बैठे। अपने साथ राजाने जो गुप्त सलाह की हो, उसे दूसरोंपर प्रकट न करे। ऐसा करनेसे ही मनुष्य राजाका प्रिय हो सकता है
samaveṣaṃ na kurvīta noccaiḥ saṃnihito vaset | na mantraṃ bahudhā kuryād evaṃ rājñaḥ priyo bhavet ||
രാജാവിനെപ്പോലെ വേഷഭൂഷ ധരിക്കരുത്; അത്യന്തം അടുത്ത് ചേർന്ന് താമസിക്കരുത്; രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ഉയർന്ന ആസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കരുത്; രാജാവ് പങ്കുവെച്ച രഹസ്യമന്ത്രണയെ പലരിലേക്കും പരത്തരുത്—ഇങ്ങനെ സംയമവും വിവേകവും പുലർത്തുന്നവനാണ് രാജാവിന് പ്രിയൻ ആകുന്നത്.
