शमीवृक्षस्थायुधप्रकाशनम् / Revelation and Identification of the Weapons on the Śamī Tree
अर्जुनके द्वारा पकड़ लिये जानेपर विराटपुत्र उत्तर बड़ी दीनताके साथ आर्तकी भाँति विलाप करने लगा ।। उत्तर उवाच शृणुयास्त्वं हि कल्याणि बृहन्नले सुमध्यमे । निवर्तय रथं क्षिप्रं जीवन् भद्राणि पश्यति,उत्तर बोला--सुन्दर कटिवाली कल्याणमयी बृहन्नले! तुम मेरी बात सुनो। मेरे रथको शीघ्र लौटाओ; क्योंकि मनुष्य जीवित रहे, तो वह अनेक बार मंगल देखता है
uttara uvāca | śṛṇuyās tvaṁ hi kalyāṇi bṛhannale sumadhyame | nivartaya rathaṁ kṣipraṁ jīvan bhadrāṇi paśyati ||
അർജുനൻ പിടിച്ചപ്പോൾ വിരാടന്റെ മകൻ ഉത്തരൻ അത്യന്തം ദീനനായി, ആർത്തനെന്നപോലെ വിലപിച്ചു. ഉത്തരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“കല്യാണിനീ, സുമധ്യമേ ബൃഹന്നലേ! എന്റെ വാക്ക് കേൾക്കുക. രഥം ഉടൻ തിരിച്ചു വിടുക; മനുഷ്യൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ വീണ്ടും മംഗളം കാണാൻ കഴിയും.”
